My Artwork - Pray For Indonesia, Japan and the World.

It's sad that another strike of suicide bombers occurred again.
Nobody actually know what have they belief in.

Sadly it also killed lot of innocent people.

What's the purpose of doing such act?

Being Hero?
Or more like a coward?

Tragic.

Japan has been hit with Earthquake again for this week.

Natural disasters nobody can expect when it will occur despite its common.

Pray for the two countries.

Pray for everyone to be safe.

Pray for the World.

My Story - Depression

Depression.
How many actually aware that people around them or even themselves, are under depression?

How do you defined depression?
Not feeling happy?
Not feeling successful?
Not feeling doing anything?
Not feeling as good as the others?
Not feeling being here anymore.

Normally, we will said that we are so depressed whenever stress occurred.
We will be depressed when we are alone.
We will be depressed when nobody understand us.
We are depressed when we ran out of money.

Our mind screams.
Telling ourselves we are a failure.
Telling ourselves we are loser.
Telling ourselves we should just end our life.

Depression.

Depression. You can't judge just looking over that person's face.

What can we do to overcome this?

We can advice anyone to relax, let it go.
But all are actually depends on that person's will.
Not everything can be settled off by suicide.

There's always a solution.

Do remember talk to friends or family about what's bothering you.
And please do listen when someone pour their heart out.
You wouldn't know how many lives you actually save.

Be Happy. Be Brave.

Be thankful, that still alive.

My Story - Death

When we were in school, we learnt everything.
We assumed we did.

Teachers taught us subjects according syllabus, languages, maths, science, everything.

But...
Teacher didn't teach us about Death.
They didn't teach us how to be brave when someone from our family or friends passed away.

What is Death?

Nobody can teach us how.
We wouldn't know why.
Everyone have their timeline, we just wouldn't know when's the dateline.

Be Happy whenever you can.
Love.

My Artwork - Admiring A Hunk

Workplace.
There's where you are able to admire people from far.

Same goes to me.
Adults, Kids (they are cute if they behaved)

I pretty much admire one gentleman who's married
Didn't see him much anymore though.

Here's the conversation I had with my boss (sketch)

You know you got to hit back to reality soon after that.

My Journey - Siem Reap to Bangkok via Nattakan Cambodia Ltd (Bus)

During last Christmas thru New Year I was travelling to Siem Reap and Bangkok (wait till I have time to blog about that)

The fun part about this trip was how me and my travel partner went over from one country to another.

For those who would like to travel from Siem Reap to Bangkok by road (cheaper way) can try with Nattakan Cambodia Ltd.
The direct bus that I read from a blog (click here to read)
They don't have email address, not responding via FB as well.
So I bought our tickets on the first day of arrival (to be safe)

Add: Nattakan Cambodia Co.Ltd
22, Sivatha Road, Svay Dangkum

Most tour guide know where is the office located.

The fare is USD28/pax, they provide the refreshment for breakfast and even lunch after passed the Thai Border.

Refreshment, lunch with nice scenery along the way.

Make sure put on the tag they give so that you and the other passengers know each other and be kind to tell each other where's the bus when you off from the immigration office.

Journey from Poipet (Cambodia border) to Aranyaprathe (Thai Border)

Time?
We got the 8am bus, but leave the office at 8.30am.

We took nap just after a while (you'll need it after hours and days walk in Siem Reap)
Around  11 plus, we were asked to get down and walk to the Immigration Office (more like a shack), sorry no pictures allowed, a Japanese guy were asked to delete whatever pictures he took with his Dslr.

Kingdom Of Cambodia

After that we walked heading to the Thai Border after passing the Casino.

We passed by a  bridge, Friendship Bridge donated by the Brits and built by Thais to the Cambodian as gift.

Thai Border
Along the way, there's the sign asking keep moving, no waiting and such which is good or else everyone will just stand there and block the way.

Oh bags?

Don't worry about the bags, there are people help to carry it (you'll be glad) however, we didn't know they took it out from the bus till they loading it back in. So make sure your bags are back in. I saw ours and no hanky panky so it's fine.

Most are ladies, and that's the cart for carrying all the bags.

Ok, soon after we done, we were finding where was the bus till we walked a distance, didn't realized we actually passed the immigration faster than the bus.

The bus parked in the open space parking lot located the left side junction (got to open your eyes and see)

The Bus

The bus driver and assistant was standing standing at the pathway to direct the passengers the location of the bus (now you know the tags come in handy as I can't recognised anyone but the tags helped me to tell the others where was the bus while I went to buy mangos)

Yes mangos. Thb20/pkt which is a whole mango.
Must get one!
And corn, if you can spot the lady. Thb20 as well.

Sweet Corn

We were done from the immigration (both side) less than an hour (walk faster get in line faster) however, till everyone were done about 2 hours.
Now you know the fruits come in handy while waiting.

That's the killing part.

So, everyone were in the bus, drove about 15 mins (I guess so) it took a stop at their office (the Thai side) for some paperworks and there's where we got our lunch boxes too (in the collage pic above)

Just snapped from the seat while waiting.
While we were about to have our lunch, the bus drove into the petrol station and we thought they filling up petrol while we eat, it was about 20 minutes stop though.

The assistant was buying drinks for themself from the 7-11.

Anyway, the journey started again we doze off (nothing to do right?)

We basically reached Mo Chit Terminal Station at 5pm (blame traffic) and I thought the train station (BTS) would be next to it.

Mo Chit Bus Terminal Station
I was wrong.
It's quite a distance to walk (even a problem walking out from the terminal to the main entrance)
I asked the conductor from other bus, he's kind enough to use his mobile to open Google Maps.
Indicated 10minutes walk and he showed where should I head to and must passed by the Queen Sirikit Park.

The Main Entrance
And No.
It's not 10 minutes (that's for CAR)
By walking we made it 30 minutes, went through small highway, following the fence of the park, went through market as well.

The map I just googled.

Well, I guess things happened for a reason, along the way we passed by aquatic market in Chatuchak (most famous shopping market in Bangkok)

Pretty Fishes.

But it's quite hard to walk along the pathment with our backpacks!

You have no idea, how great to hold on into the train ticket!

The Joy!

Mo Chit to Phrom Phang Thb42/pax

**From Don Mueng airport may take a bus A1 to head over to Mo Chit BTS station vice versa at Thb30)

Did I mentioned pee break?
There is a toilet in the bus, doesn't have water in it. So, bear with it.
Well, immigrations.

For the total of 12 hours for us to reach our hotel.

Will I do something like this again?
Well, I did travel in between 5 cities in Japan for 14 days, so yes.

It's a good experience. However, let my legs have a break too.

***it's so hard to blog using mobile!***

Thanks for reading!

My Artwork - The Bubbles (Zentangle)

I did some extreme artwork (well, to me it's extremely extreme)
As it took lot of concentration and focus. Did had hiccups if you can see it.

The Bubbles Zentangle

My Story - The MaskWoman

During the month of October, while I was attending a catering for my little niece's birthday,
My partner and I had an accident which causes our face to be burnt.

It was tragic.
For so many years we catered, it was the first time to have such accident happened.

My face fully burnt, first degree.
Hers, part of her face and her ear and fingers.
Some, second degree she got there.

It was pretty depressing.

Hence, I started with The MaskWoman.
As I need to be covered up.

The MaskWoman

We rested at home for one and half week and amazingly our wound did healed quite well, just that we are living with scars.

I was on mask for a month plus, with the reason not to frighten up people.

But I just don't intend to be look at in weird way.

It's depressing as I mentioned.

32 years I didn't put anything much on my face, not even make up, and now I got to put things which I got no idea what is that.
Frustrating.

The Unmasked Woman

Till about mid November, I didn't put on mask that often anymore.
It causes me have pimples (not sure was caused by the medicines)
There are times that my wound invisible, and sometimes it just turned red.
Frustrating again.

People might couldn't understand.
It's not a good feeling after all.

I shared this "Unmasked" artwork in my Instagram, and someone commented with a Laugh.
Hahaha.

Yeah it might look cute.

But it's offensive.

It's not Funny.

Artwork/Drawing are meant to express oneself mind.
Some might wouldn't get it.
Just like I don't get other artists artworks.

However, do respect their hard works.

Till then, hope my face get heal real fast.

Cheers to 2016.

My Artwork - The Practice of Zentangle

Recently (for the year of 2015)
I joined a group of doodlers, DOODLE MALAYSIA.
They are all superb artists.

Through there I know about Zentangle.

From Wikipedia:
Zentangle is a self-help art therapy practice to enhance relaxation and focus. Zentangle is known to many artists as a way to create structured designs through drawing various patterns.

Yes, I got to google about Zentangle.
I had no idea about Zentangle and I never did or tried to draw such complicated things (designs)
I've seen lot of people drawing this type of designs and I did doubt over myself whether could I draw such complicated designs.

I gave myself a chance to explore.

Caterpillar (supposed to be set of 4)

It's pretty interesting after I tried it out.
Seriously needs lot of concentration and focus to make it look nice.

From time to time, I will try it out, I even got to Google for the patterns.
However, I guess I prefer this style.
Just semi rounded like fins.
Easier I guess.

One of the design I did which I wanted to print on T-shirt
The Seahorse considered is the most "nicest" I ever did.

I even tried on something different like make it more complicated (actually I got no idea what was I drawing)
I do believed that Zentangle style does help to distress.
It has been a Stress-Therapy for me and it work real fine.

There are times, my eyes turned cuckoo due to too concentrated.

Flora and Fauna

Had you tried it out yet?
(Exclaimed: You might get pissed off more after did the wrong lines!)

My Artwork - The Egg Eyes, The Beginner

I love comics.
Well, just simply drawing of comics.
Not really into Manga type (I can't even draw such type of cartoons -anime)

I'm into drawing large eyes (which I named it as Egg Eyes)
Very much easy sketches and drawing for a beginner.

Just simple lines.

Sample of the Egg Eyes

Sometimes, I made it more details too.
To add more story/situation to it.
Most of the time, I will get inspired by the people around me.

Frustration in the kitchen

A friend told me that I should add more shading to some of the drawings...
So that it wouldn't look so dull.
Well, practice makes perfect.
Time passes, some style got to make a change too.

And sometimes...
To make our dream comes true...
Dare to change.

Make a big leap for that too.

Check more of the drawings at www.facebook.com/baking.nels

My Story - The Beginning

I started to draw when I was little, 7 or 8? And my closest childhood friend taught me to draw my first comical art.
Three strings hair guy.
I luv Archie and friends too, had most of the comics so I copied the artwork...and with my bro love dragonball, hence SonGoku attempt.
We all luv ninja turtles too... I just draw what I see back then.
I used to have Malay comics too, Ujang and Gila-Gila.

Mum did sent me to art class...
Well, sucks in colouring, and still bad in it.
And I tried on drawing building and boat... Well bad in perspective too.

During school time, friends received some of my drawings as wishes (some still keep it after 10 over years), I was bad in study, never ace for any subjects even though I done my homework, didn't play truant.

English was my favourite subject, but as you read you may see my grammar failed. And still bad.
Due to I wanted to go for graphic design after F5, mums said I need to be in science stream and easier for me to go into computer studies.

Well, two years in science failed most science subjects and in the end, I'm in art during college.
Funny but true.
College, learnt lot about shading, perspective... Portrait.
The only portrait I ever did was my mum. Well, looked 70% alike.
My other mates were so good in portraits and manga. I was awed....
And I tried, and tried... Comics still interest me.

Well, I did not went to famous college, just a local one due to financial issue.
I dreamed to study in Advertising ...hah.
Never happened.
And I didn't grad from my studies
I'm not a diploma holder, just a SPM holder with 5 subjects passed.

I did graphic jobs, salary being paid based with your certification from which college.
Did not enjoyed it, so I went into Food & Beverages.
That thought me about communications and build up confidence.

Anyways, sometimes deep down inside, even though you are professional in your career, but there are something interested you.
Some might be accountant, but they love photography and even better than the professionals, some might be marketing people, but their drawing are superb.

So, things interest you doesn't mean you studied before, it is just something come from inside.
Ok, I guess after I die only my art sells and I be famous afterlife then.

Kawabanga Dude!

My Story - New Year 2016

It has been a while since I typed out a blog.

I used to have a few (yes few) about food. I had abandoned it couple of years back, not sure was it due to laziness or I lost the passion.

Normally I thrown my tantrum in it till I got to change to other page to concentrate about Food.
But I guess that doesn't work either.

Till I've decided to start a new one.

Dedication to my Mum, Nellie who passed away on 11th March 2014 due to unknown Cancer.
Yes, Doc can't tell us where it came from.

Mum wanted me to do something with my talent, I could draw.
Well, not that great...
But I do personally hope, someone could actually appreciate it.

Hence, I start up this blog to post up my artworks and some thoughts of mine while I travel and some photos too to share.

However, do bear in mind, the artworks and photos solely belongs to me. Do Respect for not taking it for your own use.

Thanks For Supporting.

p/s: My English Not Good. So Bear With Me :)

Regards,
Steph.
